Thank you for your story. It is amazing how collaterals can develop around a completely blocked carotid artery and patients can have no symptoms. Your story may hopefully provide comfort to the many patients who learn that one of their carotid arteries is seen on ultrasound exam to be completely blocked and surgery or stenting is not an option.
